HANDMADE CHURCH CANDLES, GARDEN CANDLES AND GIANT MULTI WICK CANDLESWelcome to Cornish Candles, we are proud to say that all our candles are handmade by Artisan Chandler, Bruce. Our range includes Giant Garden Candles and Garden Flares, Church Candles, Sand Candles and Bespoke Candles made to order.
Bruce makes candle moulds from Upcycled and Recycled leftover bits and bobs to make unique candles.
Our handmade church candles start at 3 inches tall and go up to a giant 36 inches tall. Our hand cast sand candles make fantastic and unique wedding decorations.
All the candles that we sell are individually handmade in our small workshop from the basic ingredients melted down and poured, taken out of the mould and then finished off by hand.
Church candles are poured and take a good 24 hours before they are ready to be released from the candle mould. Wax contracts as it cools down so you must keep topping up the candle a few times as it sets otherwise it would have holes like Swiss cheese. Once they are out of the mould they have the base cut off to make it flat and then an iron is used to smooth over any seams from the mould.
Our garden candle flares are made in batches of 10 or 20 at a time with each cane being dipped 60 times then wrapped in the wick and hand dipped another 60 times before they are ready to use. This entire process can take up to 3 to 4 hours depending on how many are made at the same time.
Our large chunky outdoor pillar candles also take at least 24 hours from start to finish before they are ready for use. Our new giant outdoor pillar candles can take 2 to 3 days to set before they are taken out of the moulds.
If you have any questions or need help with your order please contact us by telephone or by our contact form, we are only too happy to help.
We have to use bubble wrap in our parcels due to the amount of damage caused by using just paper and cardboard alone.
We use as much recycled cardboard boxes and packaging as possible. We do not do fancy gift packaging or gift boxes as we feel this is a waste of resources and will just be thrown away.
